COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Police seized P3.4 million worth of shabu and another stash worth P1.87 million during separate stings in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte and in San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan, respectively, on Christmas Day.
Brig. Gen. Romeo Juan Macapaz, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region police chief, said suspected drug dealer Loloh Sakilan Ali was arrested after accepting payment and handing over half a kilo of shabu to police agents in Barangay Kabuntalan, Sultan Kudarat.
A complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being prepared against Ali, Macapaz added.
The petition was filed as the third tranche of the funds, worth P30 billion, was transferred to the treasury as scheduled yesterday. Unprogrammed appropriations are seen as the new congressional pork barrel.
In Bulacan, an anti-drug operation led to the arrest of three people who sold 275 grams of shabu to police agents in Barangay Graceville, San Jose del Monte City.
Brig. Gen. Redrico Marananwazamba, Central Luzon police director, identified the suspects by the aliases Mamam, Radj and Sonson. – Emmanuel Tupas
